Autism Camp Australia’s unique, evidence-based approach is implemented by a diverse, outcomes-focused team and our neurodiversity manifesto sets a gold standard for inclusion in the workplace, with Autistic and neuro-divergent people leading the way at every level of our organisation.
Our Mission and Organisational Objectives
The company’s object is to relieve the suffering, distress and disadvantage experienced by Autistic young people and their families, by undertaking any of the following:
To improve the health and wellbeing of Autistic young people and their families through a wide range of therapeutic and accessible recreational activities in both residential and non-residential settings.
To create safe supported spaces where the Autistic community can connect, celebrate their identity and enrich their lives.
To embed the safety of young people in our leadership, governance and culture and protect and uphold their rights.
To empower Autistic young people to foster new one-to-one relationships with their Autistic peers, to develop confidence and resilience, increase their social connection and develop new and lasting friendships.
To enhance life skills through neurodiversity affirming and relationship-based practices, therapies and education focused on supporting health and wellbeing.
To support, listen to and learn from both individuals representing the global Autism voice, and individuals from marginalised and under-represented intersectional groups within our Autistic community, and amplify Autistic voices.
To seek out opportunities to contribute positively towards the understanding of neurodivergence and celebrate the strengths and interests of all types of minds.
To provide equal access for families of Autistic young people in financial difficulty or distress.
To maintain ethical and egalitarian business practices for all individuals associated with the ACA endeavour.
To establish partnerships with individuals and organisations who are similarly likeminded.
To contribute to the development of a balanced and respectful relationship between Autistic young people, their families and non-Autistic Australians.
